Fun and varied full body circuit 28 April 2021

Led by Jordan, this 30-minute session is for over 60s who are looking for a fun and varied full body circuit. In today’s session, you’ll go through a three-round circuit that consists of six exercises that work the entire body. You’ll combine a mixture of strength, core, balance and cardiovascular work, with the goal of improving your general physical preparedness. This will help you be ready for all the challenges that life throws at you. The result of which is a fun and varied workout that will leave you feeling like you’ve worked hard. A rewarding and relaxing stretch to cool down ends the session.

We’d love to have your comments on this full body circuit. Don’t forget to subscribe to the Fit For Good YouTube Channel! Please do consider donating to Fit For Good to help us continue to provide FREE sessions.

What is Fit For Good?

Research supports the fact that regular exercise is vital to good health and helps control the ageing process. Fit For Good sessions are specifically designed to help men and women over 60 take more control over how they age, and enjoy becoming more mobile, stable and socially active.

Although we all understand that exercise is essential for living well into old age, it’s hard to find a way to make it part of daily life. Fit For Good sessions aim to help you enjoy healthier, happier ageing. Our professional trainers guide you. During each workout, you gain strength, balance, flexibility and stamina. You work at your own pace and your own ability – although it’s always good to push yourself just slightly to gain maximum benefit.

Hi Jordan have been doing the exercises for a year now.
At the end of March i cut a 55m long 4.5m high hedge with an extension hedge trimmer, I was able to do both sides in a day with no aches. Also the ground fell away in part so swinging the trimmer above my head on a slope, noticed a massive improvement in my balance.
In the past this took me two days and arms and shoulders ached for days after. A lot stronger now, in addition to the great feeling of well being.
A clear quantive measure of how much i have progressed.
    Thank you Jordan

Hi James, that is amazing! You have been very consistent over the last year and are reaping the rewards. The sessions are designed to improve the everyday lives of the participants and help with daily tasks. The fact that you are able to trim the hedge in just one day now is fantastic! You should be very proud of yourself because we at FFG all are. Keep up the hard work and please continue to keep us posted because we love hearing from you!

Hi Jordan enjoyed this session. Glad to see squats back! Thank you.

Did again thank you Jordan. As a matter of interest, as you know, I can’t reach my ankle to stretch so used to pull on my joggers! After tearing one leg I now use an exercise band to pull up my leg. Other people could use a scarf for example Audrey’s tip of the day!!

Hi Audrey! Absolutely LOVE this tip. I will try and remember it for the next session I film. I have already filmed next week’s so maybe the week after I will remember ‘Audrey’s tip of the day’! Keep up the hard work.

Did again thank you. I do the sessions 3 times a week. Will you continue to record a weekly session once the indoor classes begin next week?

    • Jordan+Burns on May 11, 2021 at 4:14 pm

Hi Audrey, great question! Yes, we will still be recording our weekly pre-recorded videos despite the fact that indoor sessions begin next week. Our aim is to continuing offering in-person, pre-recorded and Zoom sessions each week. Thanks.

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR SESSION

Fit For Good online sessions are a convenient, enjoyable way of improving your fitness and helping to increase your strength, stability and balance.

To make the most of each session:

  • Position your computer, laptop, iPad or phone on a stable surface near where you will be working. If you can get YouTube on your television, that's another option
  • Check the floor where you are exercising is not slippery and that there is nothing you could trip over
  • Wear loose clothing and comfortable trainers or shoes
  • Keep a glass or bottle of water to hand to ensure you stay hydrated
  • Have a chair or other stable object to hold onto if necessary
  • Place your weights - whether they are actual dumbbells, cans of beans, bottles of water or whatever works for you - where you can easily reach them, but won't trip over them
  • Exercise within your comfort zone, pausing the video whenever you need to rest or hydrate
  • Play background music if it helps you relax
