According to Diabetes UK, three in five cases of Type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed by improving your diet and becoming more physically active.

Blood sugar levels can be lowered with around 2.5 hours of activity a week. Activities could include any of the following, as long as you get out of breath:

  • fast walking
  • climbing stairs
  • doing more strenuous housework or gardening
